In 2015, Yara bought Apache Fertilisers, which held a 49% stake in Yara Pilbara Holdings Ltd (YPHL). Following this transaction, Yara owns 100% of Yara Pilbara Holdings Ltd. Yara Pilbara Holdings Ltd, in turn, owns Yara Pilbara Fertilisers, which owns and operates the Pilbara ammonia plant.

Yara Pilbara Fertilisers Pty Ltd
Yara Pilbara Holdings Ltd (YPHL) owns 100% of Yara Pilbara Fertilisers Pty Ltd (YPFPL) which operates an ammonia plant located near Karratha on the Burrup Peninsula. The plant is one of the world's largest ammonia production facilities, with an annual production capability of approximately 850,000 metric tons.

Yara Pilbara Nitrates
Yara Pilbara Nitrates Pty Ltd (YPNPL) is a joint venture between Yara and Orica with its head office located in Perth, Australia. YPNPL is developing a TAN production facility on the Yara Pilbara Peninsula near Karratha in the Shire of Roebourne, Western Australia. When completed, the TANPF will be owned by Yara Pilbara Nitrates Pty Ltd, operated by Yara International ASA and marketed by Orica Limited.
