Yara Water Solution has worldwide collaborations with scientific institutions, agronomists, soil scientists and growers, as well as extensive internal trials.

The main focus is to find out crop-specific thresholds for water-saving irrigation strategies without yield reduction.

R&D Grant (2010-2013; 80145650)

European Regional Development Fund

Development of an innovative probe system to identify the water demand of plants, including the database to set the threshold values for irrigation. The report was supported by the Ministry of Economy and European Affairs of Brandenburg. The responsibility of the publications content lies with the author.


AiF Project GmbH (2013-2016; KF3153101AB3)

Development of a multifunctional sensor system for real-time detection of the water requirement of crops under sustainable land management conditions. The project is a cooperation between Yara and the research institution of Humboldt University, in Berlin.

Water & Energy Advanced Management for Irrigation - WEAM4i (since 2013; 619061)

The aim of the project is to improve the efficiency of water use and reduce the costs of power irrigation systems. WEAM4i is a European project co-funded by the European Union under the 7th Framework Program.


WATBio (since 2012; FP7-311929)

Wat_Bio_logo

Development of improved perennial non-food biomass and bioproduct crops for water stressed environments. WATBio is an international research project funded by the European Community’s 7th Framework Program.

LASA (2013-2015; 1380597 and 1388958)

Employment of Innovation Assistants (m/f) in small and medium-sized enterprises in the state of Brandenburg. The initiative was funded by the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Women and Family from the European Social Fund and the state of Brandenburg.
