HR3 – Total hours of employee training on policies and procedures concerning aspects of human rights that are relevant to operations, including the percentage of employees trained 

In 2010, Yara rolled out its Ethics Program and a standardized training format throughout the organization. Throughout 2011 new employees were introduced to the Ethics Program through the induction program. A new Ethics Awareness Program will be launched in 2012 to mark the 2nd anniversary of the Ethics Program with the purpose of encouraging managers and employees to speak up and share any questions and concerns they may have.

HR4 – Total number of incidents of discrimination and actions taken 

There were two cases of discrimination reported within Yara in 2011. Both reports have been investigated and followed-up according to Yara’s investigation procedures.

HR 5 – Operations identified in which the right to exercise freedom of association and collective bargaining may be at significant risk, and actions taken to support these rights

Last year, two countries reported that their right to exercise freedom of association and collective bargaining may be at risk. This year, countries have reported that although there might be a risk, none have had any incidences where this right was at risk.

HR6 – Operations identified as having significant risk for incidents of child labor and measures taken to contribute to the elimination of child labor

Last year, three countries reported that there was a risk of child labor. This year, countries have reported that although there might be a risk, none have had any incidences of child labor.

HR 7 – Operations identified as having significant risk for incidents of forced or compulsory labor and measure to contribute to the elimination of forced or compulsory labor

Last year one, country reported that there was a risk of incidents of forced or compulsory labor. This year, countries have reported that although there might be a risk, none have had any incidences of forced or compulsory labor.

HR9 – Total number of incidents of violations involving rights of indigenous people and actions taken 

In 2011, Yara had no reported incidents of violations involving rights of indigenous people.  

HR11 - new Number of grievances related to human rights filed, addressed, and resolved through formal grievance mechanisms

In 2011 there were no grievances filed related to human rights.
