Join the NutriBudget and DeliSoil Co-creation workshop, hosted by Yara
The workshop will present ongoing work from two European projects, which are funded by the European Commission as part of the 2022 Horizon Europe Program under the EU ZEROPOLLUTION and Mission Soil Calls.
- The NutriBudget project aims to optimize the nutrient budget in agriculture, to reduce negative environmental impacts on climate, biodiversity, water, air, and soil.
- The DeliSoil project aims to demonstrate improved operations to produce recycled soil improvers from food processing side streams and bring safe, regulated sustainable fertilizer products to market and promote their use.

Pamela Cardillo
Pamela is a Project Manager at ERINN Innovation, a Dublin-based SME specialising in accelerating the impact of European-funded research. She leads the Dissemination, Exploitation, and Communication work package for DeliSoil project. With over 15 years of experience in international project management and training, particularly in the not-for-profit and education sectors, Pamela has extensive expertise in EU-funded projects. She holds a B.A. (Hons) in Philosophy and Political Science, an M.Phil in International Peace Studies, and is a qualified project manager. Her areas of interest include education and training, science outreach, and proposal development.
Erik Meers
Erik Meers achieved his PhD in 2005 (Bioscience Engineering) and fulfilled an additional postdoc in Environmental Remediation in collaboration with Industry thereafter. In the period 2007-2012 he was national Business & Technology Developer for a multinational energy producer, specializing in biogas projects and associated R&D. In 2012-2016 he coordinated the regional biogas platform in Flanders, Belgium (Biogas-E). As of 2016 he returned to academia (Ghent University, BE) where he became a professor and developed a team in Bioresource Recovery, which grew quickly and is now counting 50 team members. Research topics include Nutrient recovery from manure and biomethanisation digestates, Recycling/recovery of technology-critical elements from waste and wastewater, Testing and development of (micronutrient-enriched) soil fertilizers, feed and food supplements, Bio-energy crops, Phytoremediation, Cultivation of novel biomass on waste streams, etc. Over the course of his career he founded 8 SMEs and also set up science communication, science bus. development and community platforms (www.nl.innolab-group.com, www.biorefine.eu, www.re-source.bio, www.nutricycle.vlaanderen, End-of-Waste).
Marina Ettl
Marina is working as a Director for Funded Projects and Regenerative Agriculture Business Intelligence for the Center of Competence RegAg and Carbon Emission Reduction of the Global Innovation Business Unit of Yara. The Center of Competence drives the co-creation of the global Yara business strategy and roadmap for Regenerative Agriculture and in field emission reduction, while enabling the generation of a new value creation, and facilitating commercial execution in the certain regions. Yara supports the inclusive, science based and outcome-based focus of regenerative agriculture in line with the ambition to grow a Nature Positive Food Future. Marina holds a PhD in biology, and is specialized in ecology and microbiology. Due to her former positions in Yara she is experienced in the assessment of circular economy opportunities as well as in the development of technical products and solutions. Marina coordinates Yara’s contribution to the NutriBudget and DeliSoil projects.
